Venue

RAI Amsterdam

Dates

10–13 September 2027

Exhibitors

1,300+ exhibitors (IBC2026 figure — 2027 not yet published)

Visitors

41,225 attendees from 170 countries (IBC2026)

Stand sizes

Space-only minimum is 30m² (double-decker stands carry a 25% surcharge); Enhanced Shell Scheme runs at a standard 18m²; Halls 1, 7 and 12 are IBC's own 'premium' halls with higher demand and rates than the rest of the floor

Sector

Broadcast, media & entertainment technology

Before you book

What you actually need to know about IBC.

IBC is the world's leading broadcast, media and entertainment technology show, filling RAI Amsterdam with everything from OB vans and satellite trucks to AI-driven production tools — a genuinely global, deeply technical audience rather than a regional trade crowd.

Traffic & timing

Hours build across the week: Friday opens later at 10:30, Saturday and Sunday run 09:30–18:00, and Monday closes early at 16:00 — the middle two days carry the bulk of full-day floor traffic. IBC also skips airport shuttles by design, routing attendees onto Amsterdam's public transport via a GVB QR code built into every badge, so don't assume a car-based logistics plan for your own team either.

Key deadlines

Plan backwards from move-in.

Stand format & hall choice

Decide space-only (30m² minimum, 25% surcharge for double-decker) versus Enhanced Shell Scheme (18m² standard) early, and flag if you want Halls 1, 7 or 12 — IBC's own 'premium' halls sell their higher-demand positions first.

Future Tech / startup eligibility

If your client qualifies as a startup (founded within 5 years, under 10 employees, under £1M funding/revenue), Future Tech Ignite in Hall 14 is a fixed £1,995 package — confirm eligibility and book early since it's a separate application track from standard exhibiting.

Stand Design Awards entry

If a striking stand is part of the brief, build with the Awards' four size categories in mind (under 20m², up to 100m², over 100m², and an any-size Innovation category) — judging happens live on the Friday and Saturday of the show, so the stand needs to be complete and photograph-ready well before the final days.

Watch-outs

RAI Amsterdam, not a generic hall.

Premium halls aren't just marketing language

Halls 1, 7 and 12 are explicitly IBC's higher-demand, higher-rate halls — treating any hall assignment as interchangeable can mean paying premium-adjacent expectations without a premium-hall position.

No airport shuttle, so plan your own team's transit

IBC deliberately doesn't run airport shuttles and pushes attendees onto public transit via badge-embedded GVB QR codes — factor that into crew and equipment logistics rather than assuming taxis or shuttles will be there by default.

Double-decker stands carry a fixed surcharge

A second storey isn't just a bigger build cost — it's a flat 25% surcharge on the space-only rate specifically, so budget it as a line item from the first conversation, not a design afterthought.

Outside space exists for a reason

IBC has a dedicated outside-space category for vehicles, satellites and drones — if the client's exhibit includes an OB van or satellite truck, that's a completely different booking and logistics path than a standard indoor stand.

[PLACEHOLDER] Kyvern Broadcast Systems

A sub-20m² stand built to compete for IBC's own design award

Kyvern wanted presence in Hall 14's startup zone without disappearing next to bigger broadcast vendors. We designed a compact stand around secondhand furniture and a single strong visual moment, entered in IBC's Stand Design Awards Smallest Stands category.

Under 20m² footprint, shortlisted in IBC's own Stand Design Awards the same year.

IBC2027

IBC runs its own annual Stand Design Awards, judged live on the show floor across four size categories from under-20m² to 100m²+ — a fair where a client's stand can win a named industry award, not just get seen.

Frequently asked

IBC, answered.

Does hall assignment actually matter at IBC?

Yes — Halls 1, 7 and 12 are IBC's designated premium halls with higher demand and rates, so which hall you're placed in changes both cost and expected foot traffic.

Can our stand actually win a real industry award?

Yes — IBC runs its own Stand Design Awards across four size categories, judged live on the show floor; recent winners have been recognised for smart materials choices as much as scale, so a compact stand has a real path to winning.

Do we need to plan differently if our exhibit includes a vehicle or satellite equipment?

Yes — IBC has a separate outside-space category specifically for vehicles, satellites and drones, with its own booking and logistics process distinct from standard indoor stands.

Exhibiting elsewhere too?
